SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE

 
I have 18 years of corporate learning and development experience gained from management positions in multi-cultural environments, most notably South Africa and Qatar. This experience has given me an almost unparalleled understanding of different cultures and how to bring the best out of diverse teams of people.

Using a proven consulting model, I perform Training Needs Assessments (TNA), develop and implement solutions to the organisational issues revealed by the TNA, and monitor and evaluate performance to provide feedback on the effectiveness of those solutions in providing Return On Investment (ROI) data for the company. In consulting with management on individual and team development needs, I ensure all training interventions are aligned to strategic goals to deliver learning interventions which reflect best practices. 

I have provided Train-the-Trainer programs with critical follow-up coaching sessions for large numbers of instructors who have gone on to receive outstanding evaluations for the courses they have designed and delivered. 

 

Throughout my corporate career, I have not only acted as a coach to groups of in-house trainers, but I have also coached team members reporting to me on issues as diverse as effective time management to ensure timely completion of individual tasks, conflict resolution strategies to maintain harmony in their teams etc.. Furthermore, I have coached Executive Managers on strategic planning, departmental manager goal-setting, communication strategies to their direct reports and so on.    

 

I have also conceived and implemented organisation-wide initiatives to improve employee, departmental and company performance. These projects have included Onboarding Programs, Customer Service Drives, Coaching Networks,  and Code of Ethics course design and training.

I am accustomed to managing annual training budgets and have been trained in lean practices to ensure the resources allocated to training are well spent. I am also trained in providing accurate ROI metrics for training. 

Over the past two years, I have designed and produced video courses available for purchase on the Udemy and One Education learning platforms, as well as a free-to-access educational video on You Tube. (See the relevant pages for details).
