Author of 'New Perceptions' (Feb '97 - Jan '98)
When I arrived in South Africa in January 1997, the country had only been a democracy for two and a half years. One of the major outcomes of this transition was that although more and more Black South Africans had access to higher education, the language of instruction was almost exclusively English which was often their 4th language. As a result, Black South Africans were in a very disadvantaged position when it came to their higher education.
In order to help address this issue, I wrote ‘New Perceptions’: an English language, communication skills and academic skills course book published in February 1998 by Addison Wesley Longman whose parent company, Pearson Education, is the world’s largest publisher of such works. ‘New Perceptions’ sold over 10,000 copies before finally going out of print in 2013 and had been the prescribed text in numerous universities, technikons and colleges throughout South Africa. Such institutions included the University of Cape Town, the University of the North, Witwatersrand Technikon, Port Elizabeth Technikon, Boston City Campus and the Johannesburg College of Higher Education.
Author of 'Alternative Approaches To Healing Cancer Naturally: 15 Questions And Answers That Might Just Save Your Life' (Sept '17 - Mar '18)
In January 2013, I was diagnosed with a small nodular melanoma tumour on the right side of my chest wall and this I had surgically removed two months later. All was well until December 2015 when I discovered a lump under my right arm which confirmed the cancer had metastasised to two of my lymph nodes. After surgery to remove these and 26 other lymph nodes in February 2016, I was immediately advised to have immunotherapy treatment in the form of Ipilimumab. However, after researching the effectiveness of the treatment and discovering some of the quite awful side effects, I rejected it in favour of alternative and natural protocols.
I then decided to share my knowledge by writing this e-book, 'Alternative Approaches To Healing Cancer Naturally: 15 Questions And Answers That Might Just Save Your Life'. In the book, I provide a detailed analysis of the causes of cancer and reasons for the lack of any real progress in solid tumour survival rates through conventional treatments like chemotherapy and radiation over the past 50 years. I also present the scientific evidence from more than 60 sources collected by over 25 eminent researchers on the effectiveness of natural approaches to help prevent and fight cancer. I also delve into the different foods, dietary supplements and powerful protocols designed to boost the immune system which keeps the body and mind strong to help in the battle against cancer.
